Seventh grader Gianna Canada is articulate and straight-forward about her experiences at DC Prep over the last three years: "DC Prep has taught me to not be afraid to come up with my own ideas and to become a leader, not a follower. At DC Prep, you have to choose to do your classwork and you have to choose to do your homework."
Gianna Canada was disappointed this year when she found that her grade point average did not qualify her for Beta Club, DC Prep’s honor society. But she has used that disappointment as encouragement to work harder, and she is confident that she will earn induction next year. "I've been paying more attention and asking questions," Gianna says. "DC Prep has taught me that you can't be afraid to ask for help."
